Kayleigh's Krew

On August 26, 2010 little Kayleigh was born at 26 weeks gestation - 14 weeks premature.  She weighed 1lb 4 oz and was in for a long stay in NICU.  She fought long and hard, underwent multiple surgeries and tests before ultimately heading home with her parents.  Much of the help Kayleigh's family had during this process came from March of Dimes and now they, along with friends and family, are looking to give back and help other families with premature children.

Kayleigh's mom was a co-worker back when I worked at the day care.  When I heard about Kayleigh's situation, I wanted to do anything I could to help them out.  First, I wrote the simple Kayleigh Preemie Hat pattern.  This is a simple crochet pattern - great for beginners looking to do a little more than single crochet.  The pattern costs only $3 and all proceeds (after Paypal fees) go to Kayleigh's March of Dimes.

The team is Kayleigh's Krew.  As soon as Chelsea announced she was putting together a walking team for a spring event, I jumped to join.  I set my goal and started letting everyone know.  I know times are tough for many but it would be much appreciated if you donate to my fundraising page.  Even though the walk is over, donations are always accepted by March of Dimes through the page.
